Photography exhibition in Istanbul by Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan
Idea behind the exhibition is to show the essential human nature even if people are differentiated by identity and geography
ISTANBUL, Türkiye (MNTV) – A photography exhibition by acclaimed filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan, has started to welcome visitors in the Turkish megapolis of Istanbul.
According to Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah, the exhibition displays portraits captured by Ceylan from as diverse places as Türkiye, Russia, India, Algeria, China, Turkmenistan, and Egypt.
The exhibition proposes to show the shared experiences of feelings and sufferings which are unbounded by ethnic and geographical identities.
A video recorded along with the images captured has also been showcased at the exhibition.
The video aims to give insights into the process of photography, from its beginning to finalization, enabling the observer to experience a dedicated emotion that runs throughout.
Anadolu Agency reports that the exhibition marks Ceylan’s fourth solo show at Dirimart and showcases 25 newly unveiled photographs.
The diversity of race, origin, and spatiality, the exhibition aims to show, does not hinder the commonality of human experiences of emotions of happiness or grief.
Ceylan’s photography has garnered significant recognition in international art circles, with audiences frequently drawn to the profound emotional depth and unique perspective conveyed in his work.
The exhibition is open to the public at no cost and can be visited daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, excluding Mondays, until February 23.
On January 18, Ceylan opened an exhibition called “Inner Landscapes” at the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam in addition to his presentation in İstanbul.
