Palestinians worried about possibility of UNRWA aid halt
RAFAH – AFP
Palestinians living in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip are worried about the possible cut of supplies by UNRWA.
“Stopping supplies distribution from UNRWA (will lead to) a catastrophe in the Gaza Strip,” said Bassam Al-Masri, a Palestinian displaced from Beit Hanoun. “Those distributions are our main pillar and if they stop a famine will occur like what happened in the north (Gaza Strip),” he added.
Amal Abdel Moneim, a Palestinian woman displaced from Gaza City, said she was scared “because we count on the UNRWA aid. No one supports our people other than UNRWA and other countries which are helping us. But if the UNRWA stops helping us, then our people will await death minute by minute.
“UNRWA is helping our people who are hungry and suffering. If they stop we have no one besides us except God,” she said.
