Palestinians warn of famine as Israeli siege forces bakeries in northern Gaza to close
Palestinians are warning of a famine in northern Gaza as an Israeli blockade has forced five bakeries to shut down in the region.
Baker owner Kamel Ajjour told Anadolu news agency that his bakery is the only one still functioning in the area and is likely to close within a week if Israel continues to block the entry of fuel and essential supplies.
Ajjour emphasized that fuel has not been delivered to bakeries in northern Gaza for over 10 days.
He appealed to international organizations, including the UN, to immediately intervene to prevent the outbreak of famine in northern Gaza.
He also called for the swift delivery of fuel and essential materials to sustain bread production in the enclave.
