Palestinian shot dead by Israeli army in Jenin
JENIN, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian was killed and six others were injured by the Israeli army on Friday in the West Bank city of Jenin.
“The result of the Israeli aggression against the city of Jenin is one martyr and six injuries, including one in a very critical condition (a bullet to the head),” said a Palestinian Health Ministry statement.
The ministry said the injured person was resuscitated after he was thought dead, adding: “The patient is still in a very serious condition.”
The ministry had earlier announced “the arrival of martyrs at Jenin State Hospital” before revising its statement to say that one Palestinian had been killed and six others injured.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli military forces stormed the city of Jenin from several entrances, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli forces.
For several months, the Israeli army has carried out operations in the northern West Bank, concentrated in the cities of Nablus and Jenin, allegedly seeking out members of the Palestinian resistance movements.
