Palestinian killed by Israeli army fire in West Bank raid
RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A 17-year-old Palestinian was killed in an Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, the Health Ministry said.
Another young Palestinian was injured when Israeli forces pushed into the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, the ministry said in a statement.
Jani Abu Jokha, the director of Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, said two injured Palestinians were admitted to the hospital this morning. One of them died of his injuries.
There was no comment from the Israeli army on the report.
According to Palestinian health authorities, at least 55 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank and Gaza Strip this year.
Saturday’s death comes amid rising tensions across the Palestinian territories against the backdrop of repeated Israeli arrest campaigns in the occupied West Bank and settler incursions into the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in East Jerusalem.
