Palestinian killed by Israeli army fire in West Bank
RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the Health Ministry said.
A ministry statement said a 20-year-old man was killed near Qalqilya in the northern West Bank.
Israeli public broadcaster KAN said soldiers opened fire on a Palestinian after an alleged stabbing attempt at a military checkpoint near the Kedumim settlement.
However, there was no evidence that the Palestinian victim was carrying a weapon for stabbing. No injuries were reported among Israeli forces.
Eyewitnesses said the Israeli army sealed off the area following the incident.
