Palestinian girl dies of wounds from Israeli offensive on Gaza
JERUSALEM (AA) – A 10-year-old Palestinian girl died on Thursday of her injuries that she suffered in an Israeli offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip last week, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.
“Our crews are working to transport the body of Lian Al-Shaer after she died of wounds she sustained during the recent aggression on Gaza,” the NGO said in a statement.
Al-Shaer and another two children were transferred two days ago to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem via Erez crossing by a Red Crescent crew.
She arrived at the hospital on Tuesday in a state of clinical death, as a result of shrapnel injuries in her head from an Israeli missile, Al-Makassed Hospital said in a statement carried by the official Wafa news agency.
Her death brought the toll from the Israeli offensive on Gaza to 48.
The Israeli attacks came to a halt late Sunday under an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire.
