Palestinian fatally shot by Israeli forces in West Bank
JERUSALEM (AA): A Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli army forces in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to Israeli media.
Israeli Army Radio claimed that the Palestinian was killed while attempting to plant an explosive device near the Israeli settlement of Neveh Tzuf’ in the central West Bank.
Public broadcaster KAN, however, said that the Palestinian man was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli forces.
Last week, at least 12 Palestinians were killed and more than 140 others injured in a massive Israeli military raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.
Tension has been high across the West Bank in recent months because of repeated Israeli raids into the Palestinian towns.
According to Health Ministry figures, more than 195 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of this year.
