Palestine mourns guards of late leader Ismail Haniyeh
GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – The Palestinian resistance group Hamas mourned a number of guards and escorts of the group’s late leader Ismail Haniyeh who were killed in an Israeli airstrike on western Gaza City.
In a statement, the group said the escorts and guards working in Haniyeh’s office in Gaza City were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Beach refugee camp on Monday, but didn’t mention their names.
It added that the crime is a continuation of the previous crimes against Haniyeh and his family, stressing that it “will not break the will of the resistance.”
On Monday evening, the Palestinian Civil Defense said six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a gathering of people in the Beach camp.
Ismail Haniyeh was killed on July 31 in an airstrike in the Iranian capital Tehran, with the group accusing Israel of being behind his assassination.
The ongoing Israeli onslaught has since killed over 40,130 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 92,740, according to local health authorities.
More than 10 months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
