Over 3,000 Americans Email Ukrainian Embassy In Washington, Expressing Interest In Fighting Against Russia
Thousands of people have applied to the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, D.C. in a bid to join the Ukrainian army in its fight against Russia.
A military official at the embassy told Anadolu Agency they received more than 3,000 emails from those who wanted to go to Ukraine.
They were asked to fill out an application form.
Applications will be screened to check who is capable of going, the official said.
Less than half of those who inquired in emails filled applications, according to the official.
Applicants included former military officials and civilians who wanted to help with the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine.
