Over 100 GOP security experts back Harris, denounce Trump as ‘unfit for office’
More than 100 former Republican national security officials and ex-lawmakers have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
They are also condemning former President Donald Trump’s “chaotic and unethical behavior.”
In a scathing letter, the group highlights Trump’s susceptibility to manipulation by leaders like Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping.
They also cite his disregard for ethical norms and national security protocols, and stress that Trump is unfit for any public office.
Observers say the unprecedented GOP backing signifies a significant rift within the party as the 2024 elections loom.
The signatories include prominent figures such as former Defense Secretary William Cohen and ex-CIA Director Michael Hayden, who have served under multiple administrations.
They praise Harris for upholding the rule of law, democracy, and constitutional principles.
