Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett wears dress resembling Palestinian flag in Cannes
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett made a splash on the red-carpet ceremony of the film ‘The Apprentice’ at the 77th Cannes Film Festival by wearing a dress with the colors of the Palestinian flag.
The dress featured a black front and a pink back that appeared white in photographs due to an optical illusion, with a green lining.
The color trio on the red carpet evoked the Palestinian flag.
The subtle message did not go unnoticed by the media, nor by social media.
Blanchett, serving as a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR, recently called for a cease-fire in Gaza during an address to the European Parliament.
