One-third of American Jews view Israeli actions as genocide
As many as 30% of American Jews agree that Israeli actions in Gaza can be classified as genocide.
A recent survey by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs reveals that 60% of American Jews support an independent Palestinian state.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed over 36,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children and civilians, and caused massive infrastructure damage.
More than half of American Jews also endorse President Joe Biden’s decision to halt arms shipments to Israel.
Additionally, opinions on university protests vary, with 34% viewing them as anti-war and pro-peace.
About 60% see a two-state solution as the pathway to peace, though support for different resolutions varies.
Since April, universities in several countries, including the U.S., the U.K., France and Spain have seen protests against Israel’s war on Gaza.
The demonstrations come amid calls for university administrations to end their cooperation with Israeli institutions.
When asked about their support for Israel after the protests, 33% said it increased, 43% said it remained the same, and 23.4% said it decreased.
