OIC chief calls for religious harmony, communal unity
ISTANBUL (AA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) chief on Wednesday highlighted the significance of religious respect and communal unity during a gathering with diverse religious leaders in the Thai capital Bangkok.
In an effort to promote understanding and unity among various religious and cultural groups, OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha convened a meeting with local Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian religious leaders as well as representatives from diverse communities in Bangkok.
The gathering underscored the vital need for mutual respect among different faiths, according to a statement by the OIC.
During the event, Taha stressed “the necessity of respecting all religions and the importance of establishing harmony among followers of different religions and communities in order to live together in peace to achieve security and community peace.”
The meeting aimed to encourage an environment where people of different beliefs can live together in harmony, and work towards shared goals of peace and stability.
