No food distribution in Gaza despite opening of pier
No aid has reached Gaza despite the temporary pier built by the US and put into operation five days ago.
Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder confirmed that 569 tons of aid delivered via the pier have not yet been distributed.
Israel’s closure of key access points is making the situation worse.
Meanwhile the UN has suspended food distribution in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
The UN’s Agency for Palestinian Refugees or UNRWA says the distribution has been suspended due to lack of supplies and insecurity.
The agency also says that in the last 10 days, they have not received any medical supplies due to closures or disruptions in Rafah and the Kerem Shalom border crossing.
