NEW PAMPHLET AIMS TO HELP LATTER-DAY SAINTS UNDERSTAND, TREAT MUSLIMS BETTER
A 35-page pamphlet on the beliefs, values, and lifestyles of “Muslims and Latter-day Saints” was posted Wednesday on websites and apps of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Leaders of both faith communities have worked together worldwide because of their shared values.
Latter-day Saints leaders have said they want church members to better understand Muslims and help root out bias against Islam.
The pamphlet’s publication was announced in October at a Brigham Young University conference on Islam.
It was produced over several years with the help of Muslim leaders.
Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said learning more about Muslim neighbors “will help us be kinder and more accurate.”
