Muslims now have a fourth Congressperson elected
California has elected a Muslim to the U.S. congress. Democrat Lateefah Simon will represent California’s District 12.
Simon is a member of the Bay Area Rapid Transit board of directors.
She also has served as the executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As well, Simon was appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees by former Gov. Jerry Brown.
