MUSLIM TRIBALS IN JAMMU & KASHMIR RENDERED HOMELESS
A demolition drive in a tribal Muslim area by the Jammu Development Authority or JDA has sparked protests in Jammu and Kashmir.
The drive left more than a dozen tribals homeless.
Local tribal Muslims accused the JDA of selectively targeting them.
Muskan Choudhary told TwoCricles.net that a JDA team along with police demolished their houses with bulldozers in the early hours of Jan. 11 without serving any notices.
Choudhary said the demolition has left 12 families homeless.
They had been living there since 1947.
More than a dozen structures were razed in the Roop Nagar area of the Jammu district.
