Muslim teen fatally shot seven times by off-duty security guard
A 17-year-old Muslim boy was fatally shot by an off-duty security guard while attempting to return a malfunctioning toy gun at a Big 5 store in Renton, Washington.
The guard, Aaron Myers, faces a second-degree murder charge.
The teenager, Hazrat Ali Rohani, had come to the store to return a replica gun.
Myers claims Rohani and his companions were planning a robbery.
Surveillance footage contradicts Myers’ claims, showing no attempt at robbery.
Prosecutors say Myers unlawfully escalated the situation, resulting in Rohani’s death.
