Musk’s cost-cutting department seeks high-IQ ‘revolutionaries’ for unpaid positions
ISTANBUL (AA) – Though it has yet to be established, a department tasked with cutting US government spending headed by tech mogul Elon Musk has begun accepting staff applications, seeking to hire “revolutionaries” with high IQ scores.
“We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting,” the Department of Government Efficiency, as the expected department has been named, said on X.
“If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,” the post said, referring to former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who President-elect Donald Trump has named to co-head the department.
Musk said that even a brief period in government by individuals with high “competence and integrity” would significantly help the US.
“Indeed, this will be tedious work, make lots of enemies & compensation is zero,” he said on X.
“What a great deal! he added.
On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump announced the creation of a new advisory group, the Department of Government Efficiency, set to be led by Musk and Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur.
The two “will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” Trump in a statement.
