Murder charges against Pakistan’s ex-Premier Khan dismissed
ISTANBUL (AA) – Murder charges against former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan were dismissed on Monday, his lawyer said.
Naeem Panjutha, lawyer of Khan, said in a message posted on X by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party that a court in Quetta city of southwestern Balochistan province dismissed the charges related to the murder of a lawyer.
“The FIR (regarding murder) has been withdrawn … justice has won,” Panjutha said, referring to the first information report, which named the former prime minister for the murder in June.
Khan is already in jail in northwestern Attock city, serving a three-year sentence after being convicted for concealing details about the foreign gifts he had received during his nearly four-year stint in government. He has challenged his conviction.
He is facing nearly 150 cases, all filed after he was removed from power in April last year.
