MSF unveils Gaza’s agony as US hosts Israeli premier
MSF says its teams see each and every day the truth of this war and horrific toll it is taking on people across the Gaza Strip

WASHINGTON (MNTV) – As the United States hosts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and grants him the stage to address a joint session of Congress, the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) unveils a grim reality of Palestinian territory of Gaza.
According to MSF, ongoing Israeli military operations have devastated Gaza’s population, displacing millions and destroying essential infrastructure.
Civilians, including MSF staff, struggle to survive amidst the destruction, facing severe shortages of food, shelter, and medical care.
The relentless bombardment has obliterated Gaza’s healthcare system.
Six months after the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to protect Palestinian lives, MSF teams witnessed increased death and destruction.
They provide critical medical services under dire conditions, operating in two hospitals and eight health facilities.
In a statement, the MSF said its teams see each and every day the truth of this war and the horrific toll it’s taking on people across the Strip. It has listed these horrors as:
No Safe Havens in Gaza
Civilians in Gaza endure constant bombardment, gunfire, and tank shelling. Israeli forces have targeted designated “humanitarian zones,” leaving nowhere safe. Recently, MSF’s Nasser Hospital saw a massive influx of casualties after Israeli strikes hit Al-Mawasi, an area deemed a safe zone. Such attacks on densely populated areas have resulted in countless deaths and injuries.
Blocked Aid and Medical Catastrophe
The blockade on humanitarian aid exacerbates the crisis. Gaza’s health system is in ruins, with less than half of its hospitals operational. MSF teams treat catastrophic injuries, with children making up a significant percentage of patients. Preventable deaths from diseases like cancer and kidney issues are rampant due to disrupted healthcare services.
The blockade has also prevented essential supplies from entering Gaza. MSF faced critical shortages for months, with only a trickle of aid making it through the Kerem Shalom crossing. The closure of the Rafah crossing further hinders the flow of vital supplies.
Attacks on Hospitals and Healthcare Workers
Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted hospitals and medical facilities, in direct violation of international humanitarian law. Since October 7, approximately 500 health workers have been killed, including six MSF staff. MSF has had to evacuate 14 health structures due to violent incidents.
International Complicity and the Call for Ceasefire
MSF condemns the moral and political complicity of states supporting Israel’s actions. The US, as Israel’s leading ally, has an obligation to assess the conduct of the war and ensure compliance with international laws designed to protect civilians.
A ceasefire is critical to prevent further deaths and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need. MSF urges an immediate and sustained ceasefire to enable effective humanitarian assistance in Gaza. The U.S. government, as Israel’s ally, must act to end the suffering and bring about lasting peace.
As the international community watches, the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza calls for urgent action to protect civilians and uphold human rights.
