More than 52,000 Syrians return to their homeland since Assad regime’s downfall
Nearly 52,000 Syrians living in Türkiye have returned to their homeland in the last month following the fall of the Baath regime of former President Bashar al-Assad.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said there are 2.8 million Syrians now living in Türkiye.
Since December 8, when al-Assad was ousted from power, 52,622 Syrians returned to their country.
Among them were 9,729 families, totaling 41,437 people.
The remaining 11,185 Syrians were individuals returning alone.
