Medina of Lights festival returns for fourth edition in Tunisia
TUNIS, Tunisia (MNTV) – The historic Medina of Tunis will once again transform into a luminous spectacle as the fourth edition of the “Medina of Lights” festival kicks off on March 15, 2025.
Running until March 22, the event promises to blend tradition and modernity, offering visitors a magical rediscovery of the city’s rich heritage.
Since its inception, the festival has become a flagship event, attracting thousands of local and international visitors.
This year’s edition, held during Ramadan, will highlight Arab-Muslim traditions, with captivating light displays, artistic projections, and cultural performances that bring Medina’s iconic landmarks to life.
The festival’s program includes a diverse range of activities, from traditional music concerts at Dar Hussein to contemporary dance performances and immersive light installations.
Key highlights include the illumination of the Zeitouna Mosque, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, and the transformation of Bab Bhar into a surreal gateway.
In addition to its cultural offerings, the festival serves as a driving force for the local economy.Artisans, including potters, jewelers, and leatherworkers, will showcase their creations, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation. Cafes, restaurants, and shops will also thrive during the week-long festivities, creating a vibrant atmosphere in Medina’s bustling alleys.
The event’s immersive program features thematic conferences, film screenings, and workshops in Arabic calligraphy, perfume-making, and pottery.
A carefully designed route will guide visitors through Medina’s historical gems, including Bab Mnara and the Holy Cross Church, enhanced by interactive shows and illuminations.
