McGill University Student Honored For Work To Foster Inclusion Of Muslims
Sarah Abou-Bakr, a graduate student at Montreal’s McGill University, is this year’s recipient of the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec Memorial Award.
Abou-Bakr is the Quebec Public Affairs Lead at the National Council of Canadian Muslims.
The award honors a student at the university whose work fosters inclusion of Muslims in Quebec and Canadian society.
It was established in the wake of the deadly January 29, 2017 mosque shooting, in which a white supremacist killed six and injured 19 at a Quebec City mosque.
