Massive Microsoft outage disrupts global services
A massive global Microsoft outage on Friday caused significant disruptions across various sectors, from aviation to banking.
In Australia, it disrupted news broadcasts, supermarket checkouts, and police systems.
Melbourne Airport reported that check-ins had been affected, while Virgin Australia grounded all flights at Sydney Airport.
In Europe, the London Stock Exchange and several airports, including Berlin Brandenburg and Zurich, reported severe disruptions.
US airlines Delta, United, and American Airlines were grounded due to communication issues.
As well, 911 emergency services in multiple states were hit.
Millions of Windows users around the world experienced what has been called the “Blue Screen of Death” which is an error screen indicating a system crash.
