Malaysia partners with China to launch cutting-edge halal food park
Industrial park in Perak aims to boost halal exports and global influence
PETALING JAYA, Malaysia (MNTV) – Malaysia’s halal industry is poised for global expansion with the development of the China-Malaysia Halal Food Industrial Park in Perak.
The initiative, a collaboration between the China-Malaysia Investment Holding Group and the Perak Islamic Economic Development Corporation, was formalized in a recent agreement, according to The Star.
The industrial park will combine Malaysia’s renowned halal certification standards with China’s advanced food processing and supply chain management capabilities.
This synergy aims to create a hub for halal research, production, certification, and trade, strengthening Malaysia’s role in the global halal market.
Datuk Beh Hang Kong, director of the Malaysia-China Business Council, emphasized the park’s potential to deepen bilateral cooperation in halal food processing, standard mutual recognition, and brand development.
“The China-Malaysia Investment Holding Group plans to establish this halal food park within the Qinzhou Industrial Park, adhering to Malaysia’s Jakim standards,” Beh said.
He highlighted the park’s strategic advantages, including access to the Asean market, efficient China-Europe freight transport, and comprehensive logistics infrastructure.
The project will attract halal food production and processing ventures from Malaysia and Asean nations. It will provide services in trade, logistics, warehousing, and halal certification to support manufacturers and exporters.
Additionally, the park will feature a halal certification center and a talent training base to ensure professional support for certification processes and workforce development.
These facilities aim to enhance the park’s capacity to bring certified halal products into global markets.
This initiative underscores Malaysia’s commitment to elevating its halal industry and fostering international collaboration in the rapidly growing sector.
