Majority of Americans feel fundamental freedoms threatened
NEW YORK (AA) – A majority, 55% of Americans are feeling that their basic freedoms are being threatened.
According to a new Monmouth University poll, only 16% of Americans believe the country is united. The poll shows that Republicans see their freedoms most threatened.
Only four in 10 think the system of government is sound.
Two in three Republicans continue to believe that voter fraud determined the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Among Republicans, 38% say their free speech rights are threatened.
Democrats are most concerned about restricting access to abortion and other women’s rights.
They also want a more liberal approach to free speech, access to elections, and LGBTQ+ rights. But strict controls on gun violence.
