Magnitude 6 earthquake jolts southern Iran
ANKARA (AA) – A magnitude 6 earthquake rocked southern Iran early Thursday, according to a seismology center based in the capital Tehran.
The quake occurred at 02.45 a.m. local time (1115GMT) in Kukherd district of Hormozgan province 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) below the surface, according to data from the Tehran University Seismology Center.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
