Lebanese army seizes underground Hezbollah military complex in southern Lebanon
The Lebanese army has taken over an underground Hezbollah military complex in southern Lebanon.
Images published by the Al-Jadeed news channel showed underground tunnels containing military vehicles, missile launching platforms, and ammunition manufacturing equipment.
The channel said the underground complex is between the towns of Wadi Jilou and Jouaiyya in southern Lebanon.
Social media activists suggested the facility was the “Imad 4,” which Hezbollah had introduced in August last year during the course of cross-border fighting with Israel.
There was no comment from the Lebanese army or Hezbollah on the report.
A fragile ceasefire has been in place since last Nov. 27, ending a period of mutual shelling between Israel and Hezbollah that began on Oct. 8, 2023.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reports that since Israel’s onslaught against Lebanon began on Oct. 8, 2023, at least 4,080 people have been killed, including women, children, and health workers, and 16,753 others were injured.
