Kyrgyzstan pavilion opens at EXPO 2025 in Japan
Pavilion blends Silk Road heritage, digital innovation, and sustainability to attract global partners
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (MNTV) — Kyrgyzstan organized a national pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, aiming to showcase its cultural heritage, technological potential, and commitment to sustainable development to a global audience.
According to Kabar, Kyrgyz National News Agency, the opening ceremony brought together key Kyrgyz officials and business leaders, including Commissioner General at EXPO 2025 Zhalyn Zheenaliev, Ambassador to Japan Esengul Osoev, and prominent entrepreneur Zhumadil Egemberdiev, who heads the country’s business delegation.
The pavilion, which immediately drew attention for its bold design and deep symbolism, integrates elements of Kyrgyzstan’s ancient Silk Road legacy with its modern ambitions in digital technology and the creative economy.
Visitors are invited to explore immersive experiences that include virtual reality tours of Kyrgyz nature, interactive displays, and live demonstrations by traditional artisans.
Key sectors featured in the exhibition include ecotourism, renewable energy, information technology, and handicrafts — all framed within the country’s broader goals of innovation and international cooperation.
The National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan led the coordination efforts, working across government bodies, private enterprises, and international partners to ensure effective representation at one of the world’s largest international expos.
A major contribution came from the High-Tech Park of Kyrgyzstan, under the leadership of Azis Abakirov.
The park provided technical expertise and helped integrate digital elements that reflect Kyrgyzstan’s growing IT sector and creative industries.
The pavilion’s visual design was created by renowned designer Dilbar Ashimbaeva, whose work brought together traditional aesthetics and contemporary architecture to symbolize the fusion of heritage and progress.
Officials hope that Kyrgyzstan’s presence at EXPO 2025 will boost tourism, attract foreign investment, and strengthen its global partnerships in both cultural and economic spheres.
