Khurram Pervez, Samia Hassan, Umar Ata Bandial, And Hoda Khamosh Among Time’s 100 ‘Most Influential People Of 2022’
On Monday, Khurram Parvez, Samia Suluhu Hassan, Umar Ata Bandial, and Hoda Khamosh were listed among Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2022”.
The annual listicle highlights those around the globe recognized for changing the world.
Parvez is chairperson of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances, and was arrested by Indian authorities last November.
The 45-year-old spoke out against human rights violations and injustices in Indian-held Kashmir and called out India’s persecution of the country’s more than 200 million Muslims.
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan was also in the list.
The sixty-two year old is serving as the sixth and current president of Tanzania.
She gave the country a diplomatic face-lift after its isolation during the reign of her predecessor John Magufuli.
Umar Ata Bandial is Chief Justice of Pakistan.
In early April, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, led by Bandial, overturned then Prime Minister Khan’s move to dissolve Parliament, declaring it “unconstitutional.”
Hoda Khamosh is a renowned Afghan women’s rights activist, journalist, and campaigner.
The 26-year-old launched several public programs to raise awareness of issues related to women’s health.
