Khashoggi Fiancée Urges Turkey To ‘Insist’ On Justice, Despite Country’s Thaw In Relations With Saudi Arabia
Jamal Khashoggi’s Turkish fiancee told AFP that Turkey must keep insisting on justice for the slain Saudi critic, even as ties between Turkey and Saudi Arabia improve.
Khashoggi’s grisly 2018 killing inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul worsened already rocky relations between the two countries.
Hatice Cengiz HATEE JAY CHEN GAYZ was waiting for Khashoggi outside the consulate as the murder took place.
The 59-year-old Khashoggi was a Saudi insider-turned-critic who wrote for The Washington Post.
He had gone to the consulate to obtain documents for his wedding to Cengiz CHEN GAYZ.
Khashoggi’s body was dismembered in the consulate and his remains were never found.
The assassination sparked international outrage.
Western intelligence agencies accuse the kingdom’s de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of authorizing the killing.
