Kazakh nomadic culture exhibition gains international acclaim
ASTANA, Kazakhstan (MNTV) – A cultural exhibition celebrating Kazakhstan’s nomadic heritage has gained international recognition, winning top awards at the Best Experience Marketing Awards (BEMA).
The project, “Nomad Spirit: Boundless Horizons,” took second place in the Best EXPO Event International category and third place in the Best Festival International category.
Organized by the Creative Innovation Institute, the exhibition competed against 586 entries from across Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Turkey, and China. A total of 200 projects were selected as winners, Kursiv Media reported.
Designed to blend tradition with modern creativity, the exhibition showcased Kazakhstan’s nomadic culture through ecological projects, a contemporary reimagining of the Kazakh yurt, and handcrafted wool and felt artifacts. At its core was the Shimai spiral, a symbol of eternal movement and sustainable harmony with nature.
The immersive experience was brought to life through the work of renowned photographers, including Anzor Gassayev, Alexander Kuznetsov, Conor MacNeil, and Karácsony Sándor, whose visuals captured the essence of nomadic life.
Kazakh Tourism CEO Kairat Sadvakassov emphasized the growing global fascination with nomadic heritage, stating that the project’s success reinforces Kazakhstan’s cultural significance on the world stage.
