‘Justice For Hoda’: Thousands Sign Petition For Muslim Teenager Whose Hijab Was Ripped Off In New
A petition with thousands of signatures is seeking justice for a Muslim student in New Zealand whose hijab was ripped off in an alleged hate crime.
Seventeen-year-old Hoda al-Jamaa suffered a concussion last Wednesday after three girls at the Otago Girls’ High School in Dunedin DUNEE DIN removed her hijab.
No teachers came to her aid.
She said the girls took off her hijab and filmed her.
That video has been shared with boys and girls at the school.
Al-Jamaa said the perpetrators attempted to do the same to two of her friends.
Police said they have identified the girls involved and have launched an investigation.
