Jordan’s petroleum company allocates 5% of annual profits to support health, education
AMMAN, Jordan (MNTV) – Jordan’s state-maintained Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has announced a major corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, dedicating 5% of its annual profits to bolster the health and education sectors in the Kingdom.
JPRC’s initiative is expected to enhance healthcare and education services across the Kingdom, reinforcing its commitment to impactful, long-term community development, reported Jordan Times.
Chairperson Abdul Rahim Baqai stated that the decision underscores JPRC’s commitment to national development, emphasizing that investing in health and education is a strategic priority for long-term societal progress.
He added that the initiative aligns with the company’s broader goals of promoting sustainable development and strengthening community partnerships.
This move follows similar CSR pledges by other major Jordanian corporations.
The Association of Banks in Jordan recently committed $127 million to health and education projects, while the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company allocated JD40 million ($56,418,200) earlier this week.
Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, speaking at a recent event, highlighted the importance of CSR initiatives extending beyond donations to include sustainable development policies that tackle national priorities.
He praised the private sector’s role in supporting Jordan’s development and urged more institutions to participate in such efforts.
