Jordan rejects reports of its soldiers crossing border into Israel
ANKARA (AA) – Jordan has dismissed Israeli media reports alleging that military personnel from the kingdom had crossed its western borders into Israel.
In an official statement, the Jordanian army urged the public to “rely on official sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading rumors and misinformation.”
Earlier, two Israeli soldiers were reported injured in a shooting incident by armed individuals who allegedly infiltrated from Jordan near the southern Dead Sea region.
The Israeli army announced that two of the infiltrators were “neutralized” and that a potential third suspect might be at large.
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation alleged that the armed individuals reportedly crossed the border on foot, dressed in military uniforms.
The incident came amid regional tensions and concerns about the expansion of the war on Gaza, which has killed more than 42,400 people, mostly women and children.
The war has spread to Lebanon, with Israel launching deadly strikes across the country, which have killed more than 1,500 people and injured over 4,500 others since September 23.
