Jordan Field Hospital in Gaza out of service due to Israeli attacks
AMMAN, Jordan (AA) – A field hospital in the embattled Gaza Strip run by neighboring Jordan reportedly can no longer provide health care due to Israeli attacks and the disruption of access roads.
The hospital in Gaza is out of service due to damage inflicted by Israeli attacks, as well as Israeli bombing of surrounding areas and the disruption of access roads, reported Jordan’s official television channel.
Established in 2009 under the Jordanian military, the Jordan Field Hospital used to provide free medical services to 1,000-1,200 people daily.
The hospital has stopped functioning because of relentless Israeli attacks that have not spared hospitals or schools or any other facilities.
After Israel’s cutting off of water and electricity supplies to Gaza, living conditions have worsened in an area that has endured a crippling siege since 2007. In a catastrophic move, Israel has ordered a million Gazans to evacuate from the strip’s north to the south if they wish to save their lives.
At least 2,215 people in Gaza, including 724 children and 458 women, have been killed over the past week, and 8,714 injured.
