Jewish settlers continue to attack Palestinian homes in the West Bank
RAMALLAH, Palestine – Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank have again been attacked by Israeli settlers and soldiers.
As reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Israeli settlers attacked early Wednesday the homes of Palestinians in Kafr Ad-Dik in the occupied West Bank.
Witnesses told the news agency that the settlers smashed the windows of several Palestinian homes and blocked access to the villagers’ houses.
Mohammad Naji, the mayor of Kafr Ad-Dik, condemned the attack.
The incident follows Tuesday’s attacks when Israeli authorities sealed off all accesses to villages and towns in the Salfit governorate.
They allowed Jewish settlers to set fire to vehicles and houses.
These attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians’ property have become commonplace in the occupied West Bank.
In another incident, the Israeli army raided the village of Orif near Nablus.
Israeli soldiers accused two villagers of shooting and killing four Israeli settlers at a nearby gas station.
The two residents, Muhammad Shehadeh and Khaled Sabah were shot dead by the soldiers during the raid.
The soldiers marked their houses to demolish them.
These actions by the Israeli occupation forces, including the frequent demolition of Palestinian homes, have been strongly criticized by human rights organizations.
They consider them collective punishment – a violation of international law that amounts to a war crime.
In this context, it should be reported that tensions in the occupied West Bank have escalated due to repeated Israeli military operations in Palestinian towns.
On Tuesday, six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid in Jenin, and on Wednesday, 15-year-old Sadeel Ghassan Turkman succumbed to her injuries.
According to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry, Israel has killed 174 Palestinians in the occupied territory since the beginning of this year – an average of more than one person per day.
