Jewish group slams Trump’s order targeting Palestine supporters
Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) has condemned the executive order by President Donald Trump which allows the deportation of pro-Palestine student activists accused of antisemitic harassment.
It called the order a “violent crusade” against free speech and a “vile” attempt to silence opposition to U.S.-backed Israeli actions in Gaza, where Israel has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians.
Israel has been accused of genocide by the International Court of Justice, as well as human rights groups for its assault on Gaza, which began in October 2023.
JVP accused Trump and right-wing organizations of exploiting concerns about antisemitism to push their political agenda.
It urges officials and universities to reject the order, warning it could suppress the growing movement for Palestinian liberation.
JVP has vowed to resist what it called an “authoritarian” and “unconstitutional” crackdown on political dissent.
