Israeli strikes kill 25 people in Lebanon, 700 killed in week
Lebanon’s health ministry reports that at least 25 people have been killed since Friday morning.
An airstrike in the border town of Shebaa killed nine family members, including four children.
Local sources say the attack occurred around 3:00 a.m. local time, when the family was sleeping in their home.
On Thursday alone, Israeli airstrikes across five provinces killed 92 people and left 153 injured, with hospitals treating over 5,000 casualties, according to the Doctors Syndicate.
Yemen’s Houthi rebels also claim they fired a ballistic missile towards southern Tel Aviv and launched a drone at the coastal city of Ashkelon.
Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized the military’s commitment to striking Hezbollah until northern Israel is secure.
The UN refugee agency reports that more than 30,000 individuals, primarily Syrians, have fled into Syria amid the escalating violence.
Since September 23, over 90,000 people have been displaced as the conflict deepens, with Hezbollah retaliating against Israel’s attacks, describing them as “barbaric” on social media platforms.
More than 700 people in Lebanon have been killed and 2,500 injured this week since Israel began airstrikes.
