Israeli police shoot Palestinian dead over alleged attempted knife attack
JERUSALEM (AA) – Israeli police shot dead a Palestinian who allegedly had attempted a stabbing attack near an Israeli military checkpoint south of Jerusalem.
The guilt has not been established so far.
A Palestinian “arrived at the (Mazmoria) checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem, east of the village of Sur Baher, and took out a knife and approached the border guard officers,” the police said in a statement.
“One of the border guards, who recognized the suspect, opened fire on him and ‘neutralized’ him,” it said, stressing there were no casualties among Israeli forces.
