Israeli ministry official deliberately defiles site of martyrdom of 5 Palestinians
JERUSALEM (AA): The act of an extremist right-wing Israeli ministry official relieving himself at the scene of an attack in which five Palestinians were killed has drawn widespread anger and condemnation.
The provocative act was perpetrated by Chanamel Dorfman, who happens to be the National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s head of staff.
Dorfman, accompanied by Israeli security personnel, arrived at the scene in the city of Nazareth in northern Israel, where five Palestinians had been killed. In the presence of many police officers and local residents, the senior official carried out the act to offend the sentiments of the Palestinian families still mourning the killings.
The act — carried out in broad daylight and in full public view — was captured on a video by an individual at the scene.
The official, who is considered the right-hand man of right-wing Minister Ben-Gvir, disregarded the sensitivity of the location while relieving himself, prompting one of the local residents to confront him, shouting “Shame on you!”
Following this reaction, the official quickly returned to the security personnel.
As these images spread on social media, Dorfman’s behavior at the site of the mass killing drew widespread criticism.
Comments on social media expressed disgust over the incident, condemned it as disrespectful to humanity and highlighted the disregard to human rights.
