Israeli female soldier released in Gaza as part of Hamas-Israel deal
Israel is set to release 110 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 children, while Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad will free eight captives in Gaza later today.
The exchange marks the third between the two sides in recent days.
Red Cross vehicles have arrived in Khan Younis, where captives are expected to be released.
A convoy carrying freed Israeli captive Agam Berger has already left the Jabalia refugee camp, where hundreds of Palestinians had gathered.
Footage shows Berger, dressed in a military uniform, walking through the camp’s rubble while escorted by Palestinian fighters.
She later appeared on a stage, waved to onlookers, and then entered a Red Cross vehicle.
In a statement on X, Israel’s military confirmed its forces have received released Berger.
She is being escorted by Israeli military and Shin Bet forces into Israel, they added.
Meanwhile, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds Brigades, published a video showing Israeli captives Arbel Yehud and Gadi Moshe Mozes smiling and embracing.
The footage was recorded during the final procedures of their forthcoming release.
The exchange comes as part of ongoing negotiations between the two sides, facilitated by international mediators.
