Israeli attacks kill 65 Palestinians in 24 hours; destroy Al-Shifa Hospital building
Israeli forces on Thursday destroyed the main surgical building at Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital, following four days of siege.
Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed at least 65 Palestinians and wounded 92 people in the past 24 hours.
The forces are reported to be targeting homes near the hospital, obstructing ambulances and rescue efforts.
The Israeli military said its precise operation killed more than 50 fighters in the past day.
It added it had killed more than 140 fighters inside the hospital complex, which it claims is a Hamas base, since the offensive began Monday.
Hamas has rejected these claims, saying there are no fighters at the hospital.
In the West Bank, Israeli forces killed nine Palestinians in a range of drone strikes and raids on towns over a day.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to continue the war until Hamas is eliminated.
Since Oct. 7, Israeli attacks have killed nearly 31,988 Palestinians, while Israel reports more than 1,100 deaths.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to ensure its forces do not commit acts of genocide, and guarantee humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
