Israeli attacks kill 38 more in Gaza as death toll nears 45,400
ANKARA (AA) – At least 38 more Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza, pushing up the death toll since October last year to 45,399, the Health Ministry in the enclave said.
A ministry statement added that some 107,940 others have been injured.
“Israeli forces killed 38 people and injured 137 others in three massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.
“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
According to several rights groups, the actual death toll in Gaza far outstrips the official numbers by at least 4-5 times. This actual toll includes those gone missing and unaccounted for as well as those dying of infectious disease, starvation or harsh weather. The official toll constitutes nearly 10 percent of the total population of ravaged Gaza.
Israel has continued its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
Last month, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.
