Two Israeli soldiers killed in Rafah
JERUSALEM (AA) – Two Israeli soldiers were killed in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, the military said on Tuesday.
A military statement said the two soldiers, from the army’s Nahal Brigade’s Combat Engineering Corps, were killed in the city, without providing any further details.
Israeli media said that an initial probe by the army found that the two soldiers died in a building collapse on Monday. Two others were injured.
The new fatalities brought the number of Israeli soldiers killed since last year to 819, according to military figures.
Israel has killed over 45,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since October last year.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants last month for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza.
