Israeli army says 2 more soldiers killed, 5 injured seriously in Gaza battles
JERUSALEM (AA) – The Israeli army on Tuesday announced that two more soldiers were killed and five others wounded seriously in ground battles in northern Gaza.
In a statement, the Israeli army identified the two soldiers as Arnon Moshe, 26, and Ilya Senkin, 20, from its elite Givati Brigade.
It added that five soldiers seriously wounded in battles across Gaza were taken to hospital.
According to the Times of Israel news website, the number of Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza ground offensive since October 27 has reached 68.
Israel has killed at least 13,300 Palestinians, including 5,600 children and 3,550 women in relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip — including on hospitals, schools, residences and houses of worship in last 46 days.
A blockade has been imposed on the territory, as a result of which residents are deprived of basic facilities like water, fuel, food and electricity.
Despite global pleas to end the assault and agree to a ceasefire, the Israeli attacks have continued, and casualties of innocents have continued to rise.
