Israel kills dozens in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria in airstrikes
Israeli airstrikes on Monday killed dozens across Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria in a series of deadly attacks.
In northern Gaza’s Jabalia, 36 people were killed in one assault, and another 23 were killed in a strike on Almat village, near the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Overnight, Israeli forces also bombed Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp, killing journalist Mohammed Abdul Aziz Khreis and his wife.
The attack left many others wounded, including an elderly woman.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights reported that Sunday’s Jabalia assault targeted one family, killing 24 members, including 14 children and six women.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided a residential building in Damascus, Syria, killing at least seven people, according to Syrian authorities.
In Lebanon, the recent violence has killed 3,189 people and injured more than 14,000.
Israel launched an incursion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
In Yemen, the Houthis have retaliated by launching missiles at a military base near Tel Aviv, as U.S. and U.K. airstrikes targeted Houthi-controlled regions in Yemen.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 43,603 Palestinians and wounded 102,929 since Oct. 7, 2023.
However, an estimate published by experts in the British medical journal The Lancet last July reported that the actual number may be as high as 186,000.
Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war and violence in Gaza.
