Islamic Center Of Santa Clarita Hosts Workshop For Recently Place Afghan Refugees
The Islamic Center of Santa Clarita in California hosted an education and job workshop Saturday aimed at helping Afghan refugees who are recent arrivals in the city.
Earlier this week, more than 130 refugees from Afghanistan, including men, women and young children were temporarily placed in Santa Clarita after a rushed evacuation.
The total number of refugees is 134, including 70 children.
Information included how parents could find housing and enroll their children in nearby school districts.
Representatives from the Los Angeles County Office of Education were also present to explain how college-age students could begin their education.
